CASTLETOWN PUPILS ENVIRONMENTAL IMPROVEMENTS

Pupils, parents and volunteers pictured during their efforts to brighten up their school grounds

On Sunday 15th May pupils, parents and countryside volunteers from Castletown Primary School turned out in force to work on a scheme to brighten up their school grounds.

This involved planting up a willow and flagstone bower and filling planters with flowers donated by Community Service for volunteers.

This is part of an ongoing project funded by Scottish Natural Heritage, the P.T.A and A& D Sutherlands quarry. The planters were built by Community Service for Offenders.

Event organiser, Mary Legg, Highland Council’s Senior Caithness Countryside Ranger with the Planning and Development Service was delighted to have such a good turn out and support from the local community.
