Use: Immediate Issue Date: Thursday 10 March 2005 EMERGENCY FIRST AID TRAINING FOR PARENTING GROUP The "PERKS" parenting group in Alness started a programme of training sessions today (Thursday 10 March) with a course on Emergency First Aid. The group, whose name stands for "Parents Engaging Raising Kids Successfully", were keen to learn the necessary skills that could help then when faced with real life threatening situations. The Highland Council’s Adult Literacy Worker, Mark Richardson who works with the group said: "The decision was made by the group to start undertaking courses. They have worked hard to develop and should be proud of themselves. "The PERKS group runs every Thursday from 9.30-11.30 am in the Milnafua Hall. There are crèche facilities available so if you have children in Obsdale Primary School, you are very welcome to come along and join the group."
